Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a conference interpreter for the EU for 17 years. Having grown up on the Isle of Wight and lived in a variety of countries, I have considerable experience of cultural difference and know first-hand what it’s like to be a foreigner. I can offer counselling in French, Spanish, German and Italian as well as English.
I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling from Middlesex University/Metanoia and am a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy. I've worked for a variety of counselling and telephone listening agencies, including specialised LGBTQ and HIV services. I'm currently a volunteer for the NHS Check In & Chat service, for people isolated because of Covid-19.
In my spare time I write fiction, so am well-acquainted with the need we have to express ourselves creatively, and with the struggles this brings.
